Cost of Mulch: $6 per scoop
NOTE: Mulch can either be purchased on site or at City Hall. A receipt will be given at City Hall and must be shown in order to receive mulch at brush pit.

The East Ridge Sanitation Department prides itself on keeping the streets of East Ridge clean and beautiful. This division manages a variety of items including the following:
- Household sanitation - must be in City-issued trash bin - no bags outside of the can will be picked up.
- Brush & Leaves (Must be Separated) - Logs/branches that are larger than 6 inches in diameter must be cut into 18 inch sections. Nothing larger will be accepted.
- Leaf Vac runs December through February. Leaves are not collected on the same day and in the same manner as brush collection.
- Large bulk items, i.e., furniture - metal items such as large appliances (stoves, fridges, water heaters, etc) may be taken to our drop-off center at Yale Street location.
- Construction Materials - will NOT be collected from any residents and must be taken to the Yale Street drop off location.

The Recycling pick-up schedule has changed to incorporate 5th Fridays. Pickup is every other week. Businesses along Ringgold Road will still have weekly pick up service. To download and print the pickup schedule, please see Recycle/Brush/Bulk Schedule at the top of this page.
Household Sanitation:
The City of East Ridge offers sanitation services Monday-Thursday. Please call for the schedule for your address. Residents are provided a 96 gallon sanitation cart. Should an additional cart be required, a $60 fee per year per extra cart must be paid in advance at City Hall. In addition, residents can bring large items to be disposed of to the local brush disposal/mulch pit for a small fee.
All sanitation services will be billed on the Hamilton County property tax notice.
**RESIDENTS: Please make sure that trash carts are facing in the correct position and are at least 3 feet away on all sides from obstructions (cars, mail boxes, etc) for trash pickup. Those who are in violation will not have their trash picked up that week.**
Leaf Vacuum Service:
This Service is provided mid fall to early spring. Residents may rake leaves to the curb and city crews will vacuum them up according to a schedule which divides the City into two areas; North of Ringgold Road and South of Ringgold Road. This service is free to all residents. Please rake leaves close to the road, but not on roadway surface or into any drainage ditch or structure. Do not include rocks, sticks and other debris in leaf pile. Leaf collection will not be collected on the same day or in the same manner as brush collection.
