Public Notice for City Council Meetings to be Conducted Permitting Participation by Electronic Means
CITY COUNCIL MEETING TO BE CONDUCTED PERMITTING
PARTICIPATION BY ELECTRONIC MEANS

The City of East Ridge hereby issues public notice in accordance with Governor Bill Lee’s signed Executive Order No. 16 (“Order No. 16”), extended most recently by Executive Order No. 71 (“Order No. 71”) of a City Council meeting that will be conducted permitting participation of the Councilmembers by electronic or other means of communication beginning on the date and time and at the physical location established hereinabove.
In light of Governor Bill Lee’s signed Executive Order No. 14 (“Order No. 14”) which declared a state of emergency in response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and in an effort to protect the public health, safety, and welfare relative to the state of emergency, public access to the physical location of the meeting is limited solely to the following individuals:
Mayor and City Council Members
City Manager and Assistant City Manager
City Attorney
Authorized City of East Ridge Staff
Citizens Speaking at the Public Hearings (if a public hearing is advertised for the meeting)
For all others, public access to the City Council Meeting will be available electronically with video/audible live access to the meeting. The following instructions are provided as to how the public may access the meeting electronically:

On Friday, February 26, 2021, the video of the February 25, 2021 City Council meeting will be accessible via YouTube at the following City website link:

Since there will be no opportunity for live citizen comments during the meeting, any citizen desiring to address the City Council may submit his or her comments via e-mail to the following address:

ONLY
be accepted from East Ridge citizens between the hours of
12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 and 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 25, 2021
.
All e-mails must
state that this email is requested to be read during the Communication from Citizens portion of the meeting and must have the name and address clearly identified in the correspondence.
The City will make sure that all emails are made available to members of the City Council, but the City Council will use discretion concerning reading e-mails not related to items on the agenda or do not meet ethical or moral standards.
