COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information

In this section, we will post information regarding COVID-19/Coronavirus (phase openings, meeting updates, etc) related to the City of East Ridge (City Hall, City-related buildings/departments, recreation-related, citizen services, etc). We will also post updates to our Facebook account (City of East Ridge - Government) and Twitter account (City of East Ridge).
Here you will find the upcoming meeting agenda packets for the City Council meeting as well as when Public Comments will be accepted from East Ridge citizens and Business owners ONLY. Council Agenda Packets will have a cover letter explaining our Virtual Meeting Notifications/Policy as "Exibit A". More information about both (meetings, public comment) are located after this section.

The City of East Ridge hereby issues public notice in accordance with Governor Bill Lee’s signed Executive Order No. 16 (“Order No. 16”), of a City Council public meeting (“City Council Meeting”) that will be conducted permitting participation of City Council Members by electronic or other means of communication beginning on the date and time and at the physical location established hereinabove. 

 In light of Governor Bill Lee’s signed Executive Order No. 14 (“Order No. 14”) which declared a state of emergency in response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and in an effort to protect the public health, safety and welfare relative to the state of emergency, public access to the physical location of the City Council Meeting is limited solely to the following individuals: 
  • Mayor and City Council Members
  • City Manager and Assistant City Manager
  • City Attorney
  • City Finance Director
  • City Recorder

For all others, public access to the City Council Meeting will be available electronically with video/audible live access to the meeting.  The following instructions are provided as to how the public may access the meeting electronically:

Live access via Facebook Live:

  1. Sign into Facebook at www.facebook.com
  2. In the search bar, type “City of East Ridge – Government”. Click on the link for the live meeting.

A copy of the City Council Meeting’s Agenda will be posted as a link above and will also available at the City’s website at www.eastridgetn.gov. Following the live meeting, the City Council Meeting will be accessible via our YouTube channel (City of East Ridge) and on the City’s website at: http://eastridgetn.gov/Government/Meetings-Notices/City-Video-Archive.aspx     

Since there will be no opportunity for live citizen comments during the meeting, any citizen desiring to address the City Council may submit comments via E-mail to the following address: E-mails will ONLY be accepted from East Ridge Citizens between day and hours set by the City, located under the City Council Meetings and Public Comment Information section above on this page, and all E-mails must have the name and address clearly identified in the correspondence. The City will make sure that all emails are made available to members of the City Council, but the City Council will use discretion concerning reading emails not related to City business or do not meet ethical or moral standards.
